A Short Film Project

I'm planning to shoot a short film with a friend, focusing basically on soccer. It'll be a documentary film.
The first draft was that it would explore on why the youth, here in Singapore, prefers playing soccer more than any other sports, evolving mainly around malay boys and thier natural infatuation with the round thing call ball and thier domination of the sport.

The recent rise of chinese boys picking up the game, was it the result of David Beckham, Christiano Ronaldo or plainly a sudden surge of interest.
Do they really want to at least play at club levels or even don the national colors or are they just content at having a ball and just enjoying it as a form of leisure treatment.

On youths who loves Hiphop, but are ignorant about basketball.
Geared in baggy jeans, AirForce ones and jerseys spouting the names of Michael Jordan, Allen Iversen and etc., one would wonder do they really play the game?
But one thing for sure, most plays soccer.

On the local football fraternity, you see boys playing at every space they could get, those SSC field, them housing estates street soccer courts; now sprouting like mushrooms, and even under your HDB void deck. But where are they when S-league matches are played live in a stadium right at the convenience of thier neighbourhood, and btw it ony cost a dollar for students per admission!

What big is epl, does owning a cable box and staying up late upon starhub's channel 22 justify a label that you're a supporter. You don't even get to touch the grounds of Old Trafford, Highbury or Anfield. So what is Jln Besar, Bedok Stadium and Jurong Stadium to you?
Have you been in one?

And those apeks and uncles, scrutinising every moves some character in football kit does in the silver screen, while sipping Tiger or anjikao.
What are they, the 12th man of the football team?
Do the players really hear them?

So here in a film, which I hope would start its engine by may/june, would explore all this issues on a community level.
The elements of what the whole soccer scene is about, from those chased away by authority for playing soccer at a basketball court to them apeks sipping Tiger while procrastinating and cheering.

So there's a Tiger behind every Lion huh?
So what is the Tiger?
A beer?
Sorry I don't drink.
